Distributed Solutions
DESIGNED FOR SAFER CLOSE-PROXIMITY DEPLOYMENT
Syntropic’s distributed solutions bring safer sodium-ion energy storage to environments where proximity raises the stakes. Tenet™ is available for residential and light commercial applications, with Pillar48™ and PillarX™ planned for telecom and high-voltage C&I.
From chemistry to application
Safety starts with the chemistry.
Syntropic’s distributed solutions are built on sodium-chromium-oxide chemistry, NaCrO₂ (NCO), with demonstrated thermal stability, long service life, and no lithium, nickel, or cobalt. In homes and other close-proximity environments, lithium-based storage can introduce added thermal risk, active temperature-control requirements, and fire-mitigation complexity. Independent cell testing reinforces confidence in NCO as a lower-risk chemistry for storage deployed closer to people and property.
TENET · RESIDENTIAL ENERGY STORAGE
Safer storage for the places that matter most.
Tenet is leading sodium-ion’s entry into the U.S. residential storage market with a compact 9.25 kWh, 48 V-class battery designed for backup power, solar self-consumption, and greater home resilience.
Compatibility with most 48 V inverters gives customers flexibility to choose the inverter platform that best fits the application. Parallel scalability supports residential and select light-commercial systems as capacity needs grow.
FIRST-RELEASE INSTALLATION
Body Designed for protected indoor locations, including garages and utility spaces. An all-weather enclosure is planned.
CERTIFICATION PROGRESS
UL 9540A cell-level testing is complete, with remaining system-level testing and certifications expected to be completed by year-end 2026.
Now accepting distributor, channel, and project inquiries for initial U.S. capacity.
Tenet will be sold through distribution channels and will not be available for direct individual purchase from Syntropic. Initial production will be overseas, with U.S. manufacturing targeted for 2027.
PILLAR48™ · 48V TELECOM BATTERY SYSTEM
Backup power without the maintenance burden of legacy battery banks
Pillar48 is a drop-in 48V replacement for legacy lead-acid and Ni-Cd battery banks in telecom huts and critical infrastructure sites. It gives operators high-capacity backup power in a passive, low-maintenance system that fits existing 48VDC environments.
- BMS-less architecture (patent pending) — fewer electronic components to fail or service in the field.
- Replaces legacy telecom battery banks without DC/DC conversion
Supports critical backup in space-constrained telecom and infrastructure sites - Reduces maintenance burden compared with conventional lead-acid systems
- Operates across wide temperature conditions without active cooling
- Supports long-life operation where truck rolls and replacement cycles matter
PillarX™ · Commercial & Industrial Battery System
Scalable high-voltage storage for C&I and DC-coupled applications
PillarX extends Syntropic’s NCO chemistry into higher-voltage distributed storage for commercial, industrial, utility, and DC-coupled sites. Its series-string architecture is designed to scale from site-level resilience to multi-megawatt-hour systems on a common DC bus.
- Scales from site-level resilience to multi-MWh applications
- Integrates with standard commercial PCS and DC systems
- Reduces thermal-management complexity with passive SelfTherm™ cooling
- Supports backup, energy shifting, and DC-coupled use cases
- Helps reduce replacement and augmentation burden over system life
Built on Evidence
Independent cell validation across performance and safety
Syntropic’s NCO cells have undergone independent laboratory evaluation, including performance testing at Rochester Institute of Technology’s Battery Development Center (RIT) and separate UL 9540A cell-level safety testing.
Abuse-tested safety behavior
RIT testing showed thermally stable behavior, with no explosion or propagation observed under defined abuse-test conditions.
Third-party validation
Cell UL9540A testing completed; system-level UL1973, UL9540, and UL9540A testing pending.
Supply Chain Confidence
Zero lithium, cobalt, or nickel, with traceable sourcing and a clear non-FEOC alignment pathway.
